Student from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Win National English Speech Contest

Once again, there is an English language achievement from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia this month. A Vahry Lilam Putra, a second-semester student of the English Literature program, has emerged as the national champion in the English Speech Contest. This time, the student often referred to as Vahry has claimed victory in the National English Competitions (NEC) XI, organized by Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed).

Vahry surpassed forty other participants in two rounds. In the preliminary round, Vahry delivered a speech titled ‘Challenges of Indonesian Youth in Mastering Digital Skills.’ The preliminary round was in the form of a video recording, and from this round, five finalists were selected. In the final round, these five finalists presented the same material live. Vahry traveled to Medan to participate in this final round. In the Final Round, Vahry achieved the highest score, surpassing participants from Universitas Negeri Malang and STBA PIA Medan.

Struggle to Face The Challenges

Vahry is an active member of the Teknokrat English Club and has been engaged in Public Speaking since high school. At Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, this skill has been further honed with more challenging aspects. Vahry expressed his happiness in winning the competition, stating, ‘After my name was announced as the first-place winner, I felt that all of my efforts and practice had paid off. Here, I realized that practice might not make us perfect, but it makes us comfortable and competent,’ he said.

The Head of the English Literature program, Suprayogi, expressed his pride, hoping that Vahry’s achievement would inspire his peers to strive for goals, commit to themselves, and maximize their efforts and networks. These are the skills and attitudes needed by many students today,” he said.”

Mahasiswa Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Memenangkan National English Speech Contest

Satu lagi prestasi Bahasa Inggris dari Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia bulan ini A Vahry Lilam Putra, mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Inggris semester 2 berhasil menjadi juara 1 English Speech Contest tingkat nasional. Kali ini mahasiswa yang kerap disapa Vahry ini memenangkan kejuaraan National English Competitions (NEC) XI yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed)

Vahry menyisihkan ke empat puluh peserta lainnya dalam dua babak Pertama, di babak penyisihan, Vahry membuat pidato berjudul “Tantangan Pemuda Indonesia dalam Menguasai Keterampilan Digital” Babak penyisihan berupa rekaman video, dan babak ini, dipilih 5 Finalis Di babak final, kelima finalis menyampaikan materi yang sama secara live Vahry terbang ke Medan untuk mengikuti babak ini Di Babak Final, Vahry memperoleh nilai tertinggi mengalahkan peserta dan Universitas Negeri Malang dan STBA PIA Medan. 

Perjuangan Menghadapi Tantangan

Vahry merupakan mahasiswa yang aktif di Teknokrat English Club dan telah menekuni Public Speaking Speech dari SMA Di Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia keterampilan ini semakin diasah dengan keterampilan yang lebih menantang.Vahry menyampaikan kebahagiannya memenangkan perlombaan ini “Setelah nama saya disebut sebagai juara 1, saya merasa semua usaha dan latihan saya terbayarkan Di sini saya merasa bahwa latihan mungkin tidak membuat kita sempurna tapi membuat kita merasa nyaman dan cukup”, katanya.

Ketua Program Studi Sastra Inggris Suprayogi mengungkapkan rasa bangganya “Vahry mudah- mudahan bisa menginspirasi rekan-rekannya untuk berjuang meraih suatu goal untuk berkomitmen pada diri sendiri dan memaksimalkan usaha dan networks sekelilingnya Inilah keterampilan dan attitude yang dibutuhkan banyak mahasiswa saat ini” katanya (EDHO ADP)
