English for Tourism Activity

English language skills for vocational high school (SMK) students have become a necessary to master nowadays. The abundance of learning resources, job types, and English-language working environment places English language learning in a cruise position within the SMK education curriculum. Based on this premiere, SMK Crittery, in Collaboration with the English Literature Study Program of University of Teknowrat Indonesia, organised an English for Tourism Training for students.

The English for Tourist activity is specialized in two classes, unfortunately front office and food and beverage. In the Front Office extension program, students learn to use phrases related to hotel guest complaint management, while in the Kitchen expression program, students learn various features to explain the process of food preparation and presentation.

This English for Tourist Training activity is part of the Community Engagement Program of the English Literature Study Program of the University of Teknokrat Indonesia for the Odd Semur of 2022 / 2023, specifically on November 22 and 24, 2022. The team involved in this activity consists of Ely Nurmaily, M.Hum., Suprayogi, M.Hum., Dr. Elizabeth Ngetirosa E WK Meanwhile, students who exist in this Lagangan Prasetyo, Dini Devia, Baga Kurniwar, Fitzal Rifelan, and Cameman.

The Coordinator of the Community Engagement Program in SMK Crittership, Suprayogi, M.Hum., stated that the fundamental key to improved tourism English language skills is the specific that English is a security and requests practice, where information is available but not yet optimized. This training received positive response from both Dra Ernaninghh, as the representative of the SMKS Kridasmatur Bandar Vocational Certification Institute, and the students. The training activities are packed with interactive applications, such as Mentimeter, the "Hotel Conversation" mobile app, and many more.
