Student from TED University Indonesia Win National English Speech Contest

Once again, there is an English language achievement from University of Teknowrat Indonesia this month. A Vahry Lilam Son, a second- semester student of the English Literature program, has removed as the national champion in the English Speech Contest. This time, the student often responded to as Vahry has claimed victory in the National English Competition (NEC) XI, organised by State University of Medan.

Vahry surpassed forty other participants in two rounds. In the preliminary round, Vahry delivered a speech titled 'Challenge of Youth in Massive Digital Skills.' The preliminary round was in the form of a video recording, and from this round, five finalists were selected. In the final round, these five finished presents the same material live. Vahry traveled to Medan to participate in this final round. In the Final Round, Vahry established the highest score, surpassing participants from the University of Misang and STBA PIA Medan.

Struggle to Face The Challenge

Vahry is an active member of the Teknowrat English Club and has been engaged in Public Speaking since high school. At the University of Teknokrat Indonesia, this skill has been further honored with more challenging assholes. Vahry expressed his happiness in winning the competition, staying, 'After my name was announced as the firm-place winner, I felt that all of my effects and practice had paid off. Here, I realized that practice might not make us perfect, but it makes us comfortable and content,' he said.

The Head of the English Literature program, Suprayogi, pressed his pride, hoping that Vahry's achievement would inspire his peers to strike for goals, commit to themselves, and maximize their effects and networks. These are the skills and attitude needed by many students today, "he said."

Facing Challenges

Vahry is an active student at Teknowrat English Club and has discovered public speaking from high school at the University of the Indonesian Teknowrat, these skills are increasingly honed with more challenging skills. Vahry delivered his happiness in winning this race "After my name is called first place, I feel all my efforts and exercises are paid here I feel that practice may not make us perfect but make us feel comfortable and enough," he said.
