The professor and student of English S1 Literature Studies University of Teknokrat Indonesia held a public service in the form of English training in hospitality.
It involves a guidance counselor, Dina Amelia, M.Hums, and British Literature students. Training is given to 10th and 12th graders from the hotel department at SMK PGRI 1 Limaan.
Training takes place in two sessions, which is on the 18th and 25th of March, 2021.
Actions are being carried out directly at SMK PGRI 1 Limaan, a vocation school focused on developing skills in the hotel world.
The goal of this activity is to improve the competence of students in English, especially in the context of the hotel business world, as well as to build confidence and communication skills of students to be ready to face challenges in the tourism industry and the hospital.
Training divided in two sessions.
The first session focuses on the introduction of hospitality vocabulary as well as the development of interpersonal communication skills and skills.
The second session discussed customer service and engineering handling (guest handling), as a practical service facing a real work situation at the hotel.
Dina Amelia explained that this activity can be performed because of the internal grant support of the University of Teknowrat Indonesia. He hoped this training would be a motivation for students to continue learning and be ready to enter the workforce.
The Principal of SMK PGRI 1 Limaan, Ahmad Yani, S.Pd., is presenting an appreciation for this activity. According to him, the training is very useful, especially in a postmortem state that affects the spirit of learning students due to the limitations of Internet access. He also confirmed that the given material is relevant to the needs of schools in preparing students to face the hospitality industry.
He wished for this kind of cooperation and PKM activity to continue for the development of student capacity and real contributions from college to society.
