Devan Ahmad Pramudia and Rindi Nur Octavia, a student of British Literature Studies Studies University of Teknokrat Indonesia, managed to achieve a feat in the New Wscasting event at J-EALFEST 4.0 that took place from 5-11 February 2024.
Devan takes second place, while Rindi takes third place in total of 22 participants made up of college students and middle school students throughout Indonesia.
J-EALFEST 4.0 is the annual event held by STBA JIA Becation online, aiming to increase the potential and interest in English, especially in public speaking competition.
Devan and Rindi performed very well in reading English news, with each score 350 and 343, beating participants from Sunin Sunan Mount Dyaa, Jbucket University, Sriwijaya University, and the Night StatiH.
In his interviews, Devan and Rindi expressed pride in their achievements. "The race is only one act, so we're anxious because we have a winner to announce. Normally, two to three rounds give you more chances. However, we are grateful to be able to win this one chance. This is my first win as a student," Devan-speak.
Rindi also was content with the results of his gain, "Thank God, I was able to win the third place in this race and to do the best for the college, even in a short time, for having to prepare another race," added Rindi.
Their victory is not off the support of the Indonesian University of Teknokrat that always provides facilities and space for students to develop, especially in the race. Chairman of the British Literature Studies program and the founder of the UKM Teknowrat English Club, Suprayogi, M.Hum, relayed the pride of the student's achievement. "We hope the English Literature Studies Program, the University of the Indonesian Teknocrat continues to be known as a featured and superior prodi, to international standards," the lid.
