Ita Siregar Inspires Students
In the March 2022 / 2023 academic year, from February to June the English Literature Study program received a teaching practitioner grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia. One of the ranks that beneited from this grant was Creative Writing, which was taught by Dr. E. Ngestirosa Endang Woro Love, M.A.
Creative Writing is one of the courses in this program, giving students a rare opportunity to understand the art of creative writing from an experienced practitioner, Ita Siregar. The material provided such: writing fiction in the form of mini novels, providing graduation on how to design story plots, arrange layout, to the publication stage. The activity lasted for 6 sessions online zoom which was attended by two classes with a total of 50 students. During this period, students not only received materials, but also had the opportunity to ask questions directly with Ita Siregar. Students received advice and feeling back on developing characters, how to achieve a strong climax, and present a satisfied solution at the end of the story.

The insistic reaction from students to this activity cannot be underestimated. They fixed that the program provided new insicks and deep inspiration in the field of Creative Writing. For students, it even led them to complete their works of fiction.
The Head of English Literature Study Program, Suprayogi, S.S., M.Hum, felt very proud of the achievements of the English Literature students. He expressed his hope that students will continue to develop and continue to produce their best works. Creative Writing majors become one of the courses in this program, giving students a rare opportunity to understand the creative writing art of an experienced practitioner, Ita Siregar. The given material is like: writing fiction in mini novel form, giving instructions on how to design the plot of the story, putting together the layout, up to the publication stage. Events took place during six online sessions of zoom followed by two classes with a total of 50 students. During this period, students not only get material, but also get a chance to ask directly with Ita Siregar. Students get advice, and feedback to develop characters, how to reach a strong climax, and present a satisfactory settlement at the end of the story.
